For the first time, a tire manufacturer has topped the $30 billion mark in global sales. Was it Bridgestone Corp,. Groupe Michelin or Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co.?
If you guessed Bridgestone, you would be correct. After selling $27 billion worth of tires in 2010, the largest tire manufacturer in the world finished 2011 with $31.2 billion in tire sales.
Michelin was close to the mark, finishing with $28.3 billion in sales. Goodyear, the comeback kid in terms of profitability in 2011, also set a company record in tire sales at $22.3 billion.
