Evans goes to work for U.S. Department of Commerce

Jan. 8, 2008

Tire industry veteran Anne Evans has been sworn in as district director for the International Trade Administration of the United States Department of Commerce.

In her new position, Evans, the former owner of Hebron, Conn.-based EER Ltd. and Tyres 2000 Ltd., will lead a team of trade specialists "who are dedicated to assisting Connecticut companies (develop) their export strategies" and achieve their business goals, she tells moderntiredealer.com.

"I've worked with the Department of Commerce for 15 years in export assistance. They came to me and said, 'You have the kind of business we're always looking to help... smaller and middle-sized companies that need export assistance.'"

Though Evans' district is in the State of Connecticut, she says she is available to any company within the tire industry, regardless of their location.

"Anyone who's looking for export assistance can call me and we'll send them to their local Department of Commerce office." Evans' contact number is (860) 638-6950.

Russ Evans will continue to run EER Ltd. and Tyres 2000.
