The Falken brand from Sumitomo Rubber Industries Ltd. will again sponsor the Ultimate Street Car Association series in 2021, best known as “Optima’s Search for the Ultimate Street Car.”
This is Falken's seventh year sponsoring the series. Falken is the official Road Course Sponsor of the series.
Optima's Search for the Ultimate Street Car series shows anything from a 1930’s sedan to a 2020 Porsche 911 can compete on world-class racetracks under a fairly straightforward set of rules. Over the years, the series has also gone to great lengths to ensure the most-competitive vehicles really are legitimate street cars.
“As Falken has continued to expand its motorsports marketing efforts to reach distinctive audiences and inform them about the value of our product lines, we feel the series has increasingly proven its merit as a safe, exciting and extremely competitive environment,” says Steve Wong, Falken’s supervisor of passenger car motorsports and events. “Initially, we wanted to be a part of this. And seven years later, we still are.”
Televised on MAVTV, each event features five competitive activities for street-legal cars taking place at iconic tracks over a weekend that will award series points and event winners. Top points earners by the end of the series will receive invites to the Optima Ultimate Street Car Invitational that takes place in Las Vegas every year during and after the SEMA Show. Falken will further support the series by sponsoring top competitors.
“The people who participate and come to watch the Optima Ultimate Street Car Series are true performance enthusiasts,” says Jonathon Bradford, Falken’s motorsports marketing and events manager. “These are the consumers with whom we’ve built strong relationships, and will continue to do so. Whether it’s on the track or on the street, we simply want more drivers to experience the difference of Falken tires.”
