Sumitomo Rubber North America will increase tire prices in the U.S. and Canada on May 1.
The tiremaker says prices will go up on Dunlop, Falken and Ohtsu passenger, light truck and medium truck tires, as well as Dunlop motorcycle tires. The company also will make inline adjustments on a per size basis. The price increase will be up to 8%.
SRNA says, "Several factors have driven the need for this price increase, including increased costs in both transportation and labor, raw materials in addition to other market factors."
