Michelin Halts Tire Production in Russia

March 17, 2022

Michelin Group is suspending tire production at its plant in Davydovo, Russia. The tiremaker is also stopping all exports into Russia as a result of the country's war in neighboring Ukraine.

Michelin says the Davydovo plant employs about 750 people and manufactures both  passenger car tires as well as retreaded truck tires — "mainly for the local market.

"In this very difficult and uncertain context, Michelin’s priority is to support all of its employees who are impacted by this crisis, including its Michelin Russia employees."

On March 3 Michelin said the crisis was causing "major logistical and transportation issues," and as a result the company was stopping production at some of its European plants.
