Yokohama Tire Corp. is once again the exclusive tire supplier for the Porsche Pikes Peak Trophy and will supply Advan A052 tires for Porsche Cayman GT4 Clubsport vehicles participating in the Broadmoor Pikes Peak International Hill Climb.
The 12,42-mile "Race to the Clouds" - which marks its 100th anniversary this year - will take place on June 26.
"Yokohama has a long, highly successful history at Pikes Peak, including overall championships and many records and wins in the electric vehicle class," says Fardad Niknam, Yokohama's senior director of product planning and product marketing.
"This year, we'll have over 20% of the Pikes Peak field, which we believe will be the highest number of drivers running on one tire brand.
“We’ll be highlighting the performance of our ADVAN tires on the mountain,” he continues. “All the EV cars in action will be shooting for wins on Advan UHP or race tires, which have proven themselves time and again."
Yokohama also will have a large presence at the race's Fan Fest event on June 24 in Colorado Springs, Colo., and will hand out limited edition, 100th anniversary Pikes Peak posters and display several vehicles.
