Pirelli Tire Corp. continues its support of the Ravenna Festival which was held this year in Ravenna, Italy, on July 21 and at the Avery Fisher Hall in New York City on July 22.

The festival closed with the choir of the La Scala Philharmonic Society singing at Ground Zero.

The tire company has been involved in the music festival for many years, which has been bringing orchestras and choirs to such troubled spots as Beirut, Jerusalem, Moscow and Erevan since 1997.

The New York City festival was held "in memory of the Twin Towers tragedy and of all the victims of violance in the world." An orchestra comprised of artists from 19 European orchestras representing 11 countries performed with soloists and choirs.

Said Gaetano Mannino, CEO and president of Pirelli Tire North America Inc., "I am immensely proud to be part of a company that is so supportive of the arts."
