VAA Executive Director Steve Akridge to Retire

Dec. 2, 2022

The Virginia Automotive Association (VAA) has announced Steve Akridge will be retiring from his VAA position of executive director on Sept. 1, 2023, and will transition into a part-time consulting role.

“I have been in the automotive and tire industry since 1970, when I started part time in high school,” says Akridge.

“Over my 52 years in the industry, without question, the highlight of my career has been my time spent with the VAA. I will always cherish the many friendships and close relationships made over the years. I am also excited to be a part of the next chapter for VAA, its leadership and its members”.

“VAA and its members have been fortunate to enjoy the steadfast leadership of Steve Akridge for the past 32 years,” says Bill Hoal, president, VAA.

“His understanding of our industry and his ability to bring people together to support our cause has been invaluable. We look forward to having Steve remain with us in a limited role after Sept. 1”.

Hoal says he will lead a search committee to find Akridge's replacement and any interested parties can reach him by email: [email protected] or cell: 540-204-8520.
