Telle Tire & Auto Service Inc. has acquired Jerry's Tire Sales, a single-store tire dealership founded in 1962 in Edwardsville, Ill. Additionally, Telle Tire has acquired a former car dealership to transform it into a new headquarters in its hometown of St. Louis, Mo.
With the purchase of Jerry's Tire Sales, Telle Tire is returning to the neighboring sales market in Illinois. Jerry's Tire Sales was founded in 1962 and owned and operated by a pair of brothers, Brian and Keith Lee.
Aaron Telle, president and CEO of Telle Tire says, "Brian and Keith over the years have built a fantastic and loyal business with great associates. Their values and commitment to service align with Telle's culture."
The store is located in downtown Edwardsville and encompasses 9,400 square feet with nine service bays, and the capacity to stock up to 1,500 tires.
Telle says, "We approached Jerry's about five years ago expressing interest and have kept in touch ever since. Timing was finally right for both parties, and we are excited to have the opportunity to be stewards of the business and to build upon the successes of Jerry's Tire.
Telle Tire will be retaining all nine associates.
The company has also acquired a former Subaru dealership in the Webster Groves area of St. Louis. This facility will serve two purposes: providing Telle Tire a new tire and automotive service center that is 10,000 square feet that will include nine service bays. Plus, the building will serve as Telle Tire's corporate headquarters. Of the space, 4,000 square feet will be dedicated to office space.
Telle says, “We are so excited to have a new location in Webster Groves along with it serving as our new headquarters. Through all of our expansion over the years we have continued to office out of the original location from the 1940s and we are literally busting at the seams. We are going through an extensive remodel of the shop areas, offices, and exterior of the building. We are really excited with the investments we are making in this space and project.”
The space will include office space, conference rooms and a training facility.
The new location in Webster Groves is slotted to open for full automotive service on April 1, 2023, and corporate offices by June 1, 2023.
With these purchases, Telle will officially have 20 locations throughout the state of Missouri and Illinois. With both of these deals, Telle Tire acquired the involved real estate. The company says it is focused on controlling and owning its real estate.
