Milestar Is Official UTV Tire of King of the Hammers

Feb. 2, 2023

The Milestar brand from Tireco Inc. is partnering with Hammerking Productions as the Official UTV Tire of King of the Hammers in 2023.

The partnership follows the brand's 2022 win in the 4500-Class with John Mathews. The Patagonia SXT and SXS tires will be outfitted on all King of the Hammers support vehicles.

The brand will also offer a contingency program for qualifying racers, plus two factory-backed UTV teams for a variety of competitions during race week.

The Patagonia SXS and SXT are both UTV and side-by-side off-road tires designed for harsh desert and rock conditions. The tires are made with a cut- and chip-resistant, silica-enriched tread compound, and feature deep, wide grooves with stone ejectors as well as overlapping wide tread blocks for stability and control.

The SXS has a total polyester belt package, while the SXT is made with a Kevlar belt package, which provides both strength and a light carcass weight.

"We are grateful for the opportunity to support King of the Hammers and the UTV Classes this year," says Martin Castro, events and activation manager for the Milestar brand. "The Patagonia product line of tires not only covers light truck vehicles, but the ever-growing UTV market as well. From the OEM-size of 28-Inches all the way up to a 34-Inch SXT, we have several options to choose from."

"In becoming potentially the largest off-road motorsport event in the world, the Progressive King of the Hammers has grown to include nearly every class of competition that hits the dirt,” says Dave Cole, owner of Hammerking Productions. “With that, you need a diverse group of invested partners that are able to support those competitors. Milestar Tires leveraged their Patagonia products to support racers in several classes as well as made sure all of the Crimple Factory support Can-Ams have fresh rubber for the duration of (King of the Hammers) KOH. The vehicles, like our volunteers, are the backbone of ensuring a great week of racing!”

For the two Milestar backed teams, Logan Goodall will be competing in his No. 1950 2019 Polaris RZR Turbo S and rolling on 34X10R15 Milestar Patagonia SXTs. He has competed in UTV and 4800-class cars in various classes since 2016, and took first place at the 2021 Ultra4 San Felipe race in the 4800-Class.

Jeff Bader will be competing in his No. 888 2022 Polaris Pro R shod with 34X10R15 Milestar Patagonia SXTs. He has notched multiple Spec Trophy Truck podiums over the last few years, culminating in a class win for the 2020 SCORE Baja 1000.
