Toyo touts new technology for Toyota tires

July 16, 2002

Toyo Tire has announced it has developed a new way to make tires, and will start producing these tires this summer for OE placement on some Toyota vehicles.

The new tire production method was recently developed by Toyo in concert with Fuji Seiko Co. Ltd. and with input from Toyota Motor Corp.

Tires produced by this new seamless production method are lightweight with high rigidity, high quality and high precision construction, Toyo says. A new reinforced composition, accurate shape control and new materials produce tires with optimum driving stability, riding comfort and extremely low noise.

The tires are produced in a compact, modular system that directly connects all processes, Toyo says.
