Freedom Tire Distributing Adds Service to San Diego County

July 11, 2016

Freedom Tire Distributing Inc. has expanded its geographic coverage to San Diego County.

The company began serving San Diego County on July 5, 2016. Freedom Tire is now serving all metro areas of Southern California daily, and in most areas, is delivering twice a day, including Saturdays. The company says it “hopes to begin opening additional warehouses within the next two years.”

The San Diego County service is the third phase of a three-year expansion plan. Two years ago Freedom Tire purchased and moved to a larger warehouse to double its capacity. Last year, the company expanded service from Southern California’s Inland Empire and Orange County into Los Angeles County.

Freedom Tire has hired Jeff Scott, who has close to 30 years of experience in the tire industry, to lead the expansion.

“Jeff brings a unique perspective to the job,” says Tom Hofmann, Freedom Tire’s CEO and president.

“He has worked distribution, but he has also been a successful owner of a retail tire dealership. We feel this gives Jeff a great understanding of what our customers go through on a daily basis. This understanding will help grow our footprint in San Diego. We are fortunate to have someone of Jeff’s caliber to lead the charge into San Diego,” says Hofmann.

Corona, Calif.-based Freedom Tire says it is the largest distributor of Cooper's Mastercraft brand (and the Century associate dealer program for Mastercraft brand tires) in Southern California.  Freedom also distributes Cooper, Starfire, Roadmaster, Nexen, Maxxis, Triangle, Forgiato, Zenna, Advanta, Powertrac, Kanati, Towmaster, Centennial brands. The company also recently added the Federal and Carlisle brands.
