Camso Hires a Board Member for Chief Operating Officer Job

April 21, 2016

Camso Inc., formerly Camoplast Solideal, has hired Thomas Böttcher as chief operating officer.

As COO, Böttcher will align resource allocation, business priorities, processes, and standards across Camso’s material handling, construction, agriculture, and powersports business units. He also will oversee all manufacturing operations and the research and development activities of the company.

“We’re the only global player to focus 100% of our effort on off-the-road mobility solutions," says Pierre Marcouiller, chairman of the board and CEO of Camso. "This strategic orientation has proven successful for us. We look to Thomas to bring a level of excellence to our operations, help us continue to develop the best products in the industry and ensure the development of our people – all of this with the purpose to provide the best customer experience to our clients."

Böttcher has served as a member of the Camso board since 2008, and comes to the tire company after serving as dean of the faculty of mechanical engineering at the University of HTWG Konstanz in Germany  since 2013. He served as vice dean beginning in 2010.

Before entering academia, Böttcher spent 18 years at Continental AG, including time as vice president of the industrial tire business unit.

“Our goal is to become the number one player in our industry. We’re trying to achieve this by offering the right product for any niche application in OTR. This focus has contributed largely to our growth,” says Marcouiller.
