Goodyear promotes new RV safety Web site; introduces RV tire

June 14, 2002

Owners of recreational vehicles can now turn to a new Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co. Web site, www.goodyear.com/rv, for information on the selection, purchase and maintenance of RV tires.

Web site visitors can search for tire information by vehicle type or tire name. Features and benefits of each tire are included, making it easier for RV owners to find the best tire based on the size and application of the vehicle, Goodyear says.

Tire maintenance topics are also covered, such as factors affecting tire wear, tips on maintaining and storing RV tires, and advice on determining proper inflation pressure for various load conditions.

In addition to the Web site, Goodyear representatives will be exhibitors and workshop presenters at RV shows and rallies. The company is also training its network of independent Truckwise commercial tire service centers to address the special technical needs of RVs. After the dealers' training is completed, they will be designated Certifed RV Service Centers, available for both regular service and emergency roadside dispatch.

Also, Goodyear has introduced the G670 RV Unisteel tire, which was designed for the "highly specialized requirements of Class A and C motorized recreational vehicles," Goodyear says. It provides a smoother, more comfortable ride than standard commercial truck tires, which are frequently used on RVs, the company adds. It also offers better fuel economy and wet traction performance while providing durability, improved handling and ride stability.
