Cooper launches advanced dealer education program

May 28, 2002

Cooper Tire & Rubber Co. has introduced a new management program for tire dealers that is "designed similar to an executive MBA format by providing a large amount of information and practical knowledge in a concentrated period of time," according to Cooper officials.

The course has been dubbed Cooper Advanced Management Program, or CAMP, for short.

"Our primary objective is to provide quality business skills training and educational opportunties to our dealers, allowing them to increase their overall effectiveness in managing their businesses for profit and growth," says Greg Ring, Cooper sales and marketing training manager.

Twenty tire dealers attended the first session, conducted May 21 through May 23, which included information on financial management.

Topics to be discussed in sessions this October and during the first quarter of 2003 include leadership and performance management, human resources, sales and marketing management and legal issues.

All CAMP classes are held at Cooper headquarters in Findlay, Ohio.
