Coker Tire opens Newstalgia Wheel division

May 14, 2002

Coker Tire has begun operations of its new division, Newstalgia Wheel Co., which offers a line of retro-style wheels designed for late model cars and trucks.

The division will be run by David Coker, Coker Tire executive vice president, in Chattanooga, Tenn. Orders can also be placed online at the division's new Web site: www.newstalgiawheel.com.

Classic wheel designs such as the Magnum 500, Corvette Style Rally, Chrysler Style Rally, Gennie, Solid and Smoothie have been recreated in 16- to 18-inch billet aluminum wheel sizes for use with today's high performance tires on late model vehicles, reports the company.

Coker points to the Chrysler PT Cruiser and new Ford Thunderbird as examples of vehicles that are "factory-built with Newstalgia styling in mind."

Future plans include conversion kits and new retro-styling parts, the company adds.
