Nov. 2, 2004

Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co.´s Dunlop brand rewarded artistry and imagination in car customizing with its first Dunlop "Maxxed Out" Award at the Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) Show.

Ryan Shutt of Baltimore, Md., was selected for Dunlop´s best-of-show for his customized 2001 Honda Civic sporting Dunlop tires.

"We were looking for the ultimate in ´maxxed out´ style and

performance," said Andy Traicoff, director of Dunlop consumer tire

marketing. "Through these awards, Dunlop celebrates the artistry and

all-out performance created by the people who personalize their vehicles to reflect their personalities and attitudes."

Other Dunlop category winners include: Kyle Gann, of Bakersfield,

Calif., and his 2004 Hyundai Tiburon for Ultimate Sport Compact; Marcel Horn, of Surrey, British Columbia, and his 2004 Volkswagen R32 for Most Extreme Performance; and Jason Flowers, of San Francisco, and his 2004 Nissan Skyline for Top Tire & Wheel Fitment.

"We expected the Dunlop ´Maxxed Out´ Awards to be very competitive, but the creativity and style exceeded our expectations. The SEMA vehicles epitomized the Dunlop attitude of passion, control and style, which is part of our DNA," Traicoff said.
