Mitas to undergo name change

Sept. 16, 2004

Mitas U.S. Inc. will be known as CGS (Ceska Gumarenska Spolecnost) Tires U.S. Inc., effective Oct. 1.

Czech Republic-based CGS is Mitas´ parent company.

CGS acquired Continental AG´s farm tire business, including Continental Tire North America Inc.´s (CTNA) farm tire division, in June.

The European tiremaker is renaming all of its subsidiaries, according to Mitas President Dennis Vavrik.

Mitas is reponsible for the production and trade of Continental, Semperit, Barum and Euzkadi farm tire brands.

Mitas´ headquarters also will relocate from Upper Saddle River, N.J., to Charlotte, N.C., CTNA´s hometown, on Oct. 1.

The company will be located at 7400 Carmel Executive Park; Suite 345; Charlotte, NC 28226.

The move will enable Mitas "to give our customers better and more sophisticated service," says Vavrik.
