Mercer, Pa.-based Flynn´s Tire & Auto Service is observing its 40th anniversary this year.
The chain is marking the anniversary with a two-week sale from Sept. 6-20 at all of its 16 retail outlets. (It also has three wholesale locations.)
"We´re rolling back prices to those of 1964, the year we were founded," says Joe Flynn III, the dealership´s president.
"With the high level of engineering and manufacturing improvements we´ve seen in tires over the past 40 years, it´s interesting that tire prices haven´t risen that dramatically."
The roll-back represents a 10% to 25% discount on current prices, he says.
