TIA names tire service director

July 13, 2004

The Tire Industry Association (TIA) has appointed Jeff Faubion its director of tire service, a newly created position.

Faubion will be responsible for teaching TIA instructor certification courses, as well as its Truck Tire Training Tour, according to TIA officials.

He also will be available for customized training programs at tire dealerships and state and regional tire dealer associations.

"Jeff is an outstanding candidate and is very well respected in the truck and earthmover tire service industry," says Roy Littlefield, TIA executive vice president.

An 18-year truck and OTR tire service veteran, Faubion formerly worked as national service trainer for Tire Distribution Systems Inc.

He also holds Above Ground training certification from the Mine Safety and Health Administration.

"Jeff's hands-on experience and vast industry knowledge can help us build future certification programs such as Earthmover Tire Service, Industrial Tire Service and Agricultural Tire Service," says Littlefield.

Faubion will begin his instruction with the TIA Fall Truck Tire Training Tour, which kicks off Sept. 28 in Toronto, Ontario.

His appointment frees TIA Senior Vice President of Education and Technical Services Kevin Rohlwing to focus on training program development and other activities.

"I'll still teach some classes," says Rohlwing. "But Jeff will handle the lion's share of regional training."
