Goodyear helps EPA clean up building site

June 10, 2004

Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co. and the United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) dedicated the new Forest Glen superfund site in Niagara Falls, N.Y., yesterday.

"This is a real success story," says John LaPadula, chief of the EPA's New York remediation branch.

"Goodyear implemented a remedy that protects human health and the environment, resulting in a site that could be redeveloped and brought back to productive use."

"The construction of commercial buildings on this site is part of an innovative solution in which the redevelopment facilitated a significant clean up of soil at the site," says Dave Chapman, director of global environmental services for Goodyear.
