Dearborn Heights, Mich.-based U.S. Auto Care LLC's sales are up 23.8% year to date, according to U.S. Auto Care President Steve Wilson.
"We finished May up 16.9% over (the same month) last year. May was the second-highest volume month we've had so far."
Earlier this week, the Big O Tires Inc. franchisee closed its location in Sterling Heights, Mich., due to excessive road construction surrounding the outlet that severely cut down on traffic.
"It didn't quite hit the numbers we thought it would."
Wilson and his staff are looking at other sites in the area for a relocation.
The closing leaves U.S. Auto Care with 12 stores in the greater Detroit area.
