Michelin North America Inc.'s BFGoodrich plant in Opelika, Ala., is celebrating its 40th anniversary.
The factory employs more than 1,300 workers; 11 of them have worked at the facility since it opened its doors.
The Opelika plant can make 19,000 passenger and 4,000 light truck tires at capacity, according to Modern Tire Dealer data.
It also celebrated one million safe working hours last month.
