U.S. Tire & Exhaust recently opened a distribution center in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. It is the seventh warehouse for the Combined Locks, Wis.-based division of U.S. Oil Co.
"We truly want to position our organization closer to our customers, now and into the future," says Randy Groh, director of marketing.
U.S. Tire also has distribution centers in Fox Valley and Milwaukee, Wis.; Minneapolis, Minn.; Glendale Heights and Alsip/Chicago, Ill.; and St. Louis, Mo. Pat Hietpas, vice president of operations, says the Cedar Rapids location will service eastern and central Iowa.
Brian Van Stralan will oversee warehouse operations as regional operations manager. Kurt Niemann will manage the 19,000-square-foot distribution center, which will open May 24.
