Goodyear confirms 10-K filing delay

March 16, 2004

Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co. has confirmed its previously announced statement that it does not expect to file its 2003 annual report on Form 10-K by March 30.

Goodyear will file a Notification of Late Filing on Form 12b-25 with the Securities and Exchange Commission in connection with the delay.

The delay stems from Goodyear's ongoing investigation into possible improper accounting practices in its European operations.

"We haven't set a date" for filing and release of 2003 results, a Goodyear spokesman told mtdealer.com this afternoon.

"But we have a significant portion of it done."
