Goodyear outsources human resources services to ACS

Feb. 3, 2004

Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co. has signed a 10-year agreement for human resources services with Affiliated Computer Services (ACS).

ACS will provide a wide range of human resource business process services for Goodyear's Akron-based North American operations. Some 100 human resource positions in Akron have transferred to ACS as part of the agreement.

Kathleen Geier, Goodyear's senior vice president of human resources, says she expects the partnership to save the company approximately $45 million over the life of the partnership.

ACS will provide payroll, medical benefits administration, call center, training, recruiting and staffing systems for all Goodyear associates in North America, as well as global relocation services, she adds.

ACS, a Fortune 500 company with client operations in close to 100 countries, provides business process outsourcing and information technology solutions to commercial and government clients.
