OTR dealer Allen Craft dies

Long-time OTR tire dealer and retreader Allen Craft was killed this past Wednesday when an 8,000-pound tire fell on him at his shop in Uniontown, Pa. He was 55 years old.

Craft and one of his employees were performing tire inspections at the time. The employee was uninjured.

"It happened so fast," a Craft Tire employee at the dealership's Greenville, Ohio, location told moderntiredealer.com.

Craft, Craft Tire's sole owner, founded the dealership in 1975. He is survived by a wife, Tess, and three daughters, plus his parents, a brother and other relatives.

Calling hours will be held tonight at The Stephen E. Kezmarsky Funeral Home at 71 Pennsylvania Ave. in Uniontown. Funeral services are scheduled for tomorrow.
