Yokohama Rubber Co. Ltd. will establish Yokohama Rubber (China) Co. Ltd. next month to oversee its business interests in that country. Yokohama also plans to form a joint venture in China that will sell tires this coming April.
Yokohama does business in China via three companies: Hangzhou Yokohama Tire Co. Ltd., which makes passenger tires; Yokohama Hamatite (Hangzhou) Co. Ltd., which produces sealant for cars; and Yokohama Hoses & Coupling (Hangzhou) Co. Ltd., which asembles high-pressure hoses.
"By establishing a holding company, Yokohama expects to improve efficiency by integrating duplicate businesses among its companies and strengthening their functions, including sales promotion and marketing efforts," say Yokohama officials.
