Seven TBC stores in hurricane's path reopen

Sept. 8, 2005

Seven TBC Corp.-owned stores in the area affected by Hurricane Katrina have reopened, according to TBC officials.

TBC has 20 stores in the Louisiana and Mississippi markets that were in the path of Hurricane Katrina last week.

TBC officials estimate more than half of those stores have sustained "significant" damage due to the storm.

"Once a visual inspection of these locations has been completed, the company will be able to assess the impact."

TBC does not expect the damage to impact its third quarter results. "However, once the impact to all of the stores has been assessed, (we) will be able to determine the magnitude of any damage related to fixed assets, inventory and lost sales."
