Goodyear will report 2Q results later this week

Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co. will report second-quarter 2005 financial results after the market closes on Thursday, Aug. 4. An investor conference call will follow at 8:30 a.m. EDT Friday, Aug. 5.

Participating in the conference call will be Robert Keegan, chairman, CEO and president, and Richard Kramer, executive vice president and chief financial officer. They will review Goodyear's second-quarter results.

Shareholders, members of the media and other interested persons may access the conference call on the Web site or via telephone by calling (706) 634-5954 before 8:25 a.m. Friday. A taped replay of the conference call will be available at 10:15 a.m. that day by calling (706) 645-9291. The call replay also will remain available on the Web site.

Goodyear's net income for the first quarter of 2005 was $68 million compared to a net loss of $78 million suffered during the same period last year. Goodyear's sales totaled $4.8 billion, a first-quarter record and an 11% increase from 1Q 2004 results.

Goodyear's stock was selling for $17.36 a share at the close of the New York Stock Exchange on Monday, Aug. 1. That compares to a 52-week high and low of $17.84 and $9.15, respectively.
