Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co. has named John Sweeney general manager for global OTR tires.
Sweeney previously served as general director of Goodyear's Chemical Division, a post he held since November 2004. He joined the Akron, Ohio-based tiremaker in 1982.
"We must refocus on customer and end-user needs," says Sweeney. "In these challenging times, demand has risen dramatically, and we must take the necessary steps to lessen the impact of (the current OTR tire) shortage on their operations."
Tom Grolemund has replaced Sweeney as director of Goodyear's chemical business.
