ACCC unveils three American radial tires

May 2, 2005

Cooper Tire and Rubber Co. will be the exclusive manufacturer of American Car Care Centers' (ACCC) three new American radial tires -- the American Platinum, American Prospector SUV and American Prospector AT.

The American Platinum line is a premium level all-season tire. It is positioned above the company's American Gold line, and is produced in T-, H- and V-rated versions.

The American Platinum line has a consistent look and tread design with a total of 42 SKUs, the company notes. It is available primarily with a black sidewall, with several SKUs to address the whitewall market.

Len Lewin, president and COO for ACCC, said, "The group is extremely excited about the new Platinum tire. It is a great-looking product, and will provide the dealers an exclusive product to compete in the 80,000-mile arena."

The American Prospector SUV will target the growing segment of sport utility vehicles. It will be produced in 38 SKUs in both black sidewalls and outlined white letters.

The American Prospector AT has a rugged all-terrain design and will be produced in 26 SKUs.

The domestic and light truck product lines have been the American Bronze as the entry-level tire, American Silver as a step-up, and the Gold as a premium product. The Grand Turbo family has been the performance offering, and the Prospector has addressed the AT and AP segments.
