Bridgestone on course for 2005 gains

April 28, 2005

Bridgestone Corp. expects its net sales to reach $24 billion in 2005, says Bridgestone Americas Holding Inc. Chairman and CEO Mark Emkes.

Bridgestone Corp.'s net sales in 2004 totaled $23 billion.

Bridgestone Americas Holding posted $9.15 billion in net sales last year, according to Emkes, who says that parent company Bridgestone Corp. "remains fully committed" to the subsidiary.

Emkes credits the tiremakers' growth in the Americas to passenger and light truck tire sales increases and "strong performance in sales of truck and bus tires. We also recorded significant brand and product mix improvements."
