World Tire Expo will return in 2007

The next World Tire Expo (WTE) will be held in 2007, Tire Industry Association (TIA) Executive Vice President Roy Littlefield announced at the end of the 2005 WTE last Friday.

More than 1,500 non-exhibitors attended this year's show, which was held in Louisville, Ky.

TIA officials are reconsidering the WTE's format, according to TIA President Dick Gust.

The popularity of the 2005 event's seminars "made us sit back and evaluate the exhibit area."

A possible switch to a format that would resemble TIA's annual Off-the-Road Tire Conference "is being talked about," he says.

"We're still up in the air regarding what we're going to do."
