Bandag Inc. has given more than $5,000 to Trucker Buddy, an organization that promotes pen pal friendships between truck drivers and school kids.
Part of the donation was raised via a recent Bandag golf event for its dealers.
Trucker Buddy matches classes of students with truckers. "Every week, drivers share news about their travels with their class," say Trucker Buddy officials.
The program was created in 1992.
