With his first General Motors Corp. fitment in hand, Guy Mannino, CEO and president of Pirelli Tire North America Inc., has announced that 2005 is "The Year of OE at Pirelli."
The list of domestic 2005 model-year vehicles that will be riding on Pirellis includes the following:
* General Motors Corp.: the new Chevrolet Cobalt.
* Daimler-Chrysler: the Dodge Ram SRT-10 and SRT-10 Quad Cab, plus the Durango.
* Ford Motor Co.: the Ford F250 and F350 pickup trucks and the Five Hundred, Freestyle and Mustang GT; the Mercury Montego; the Lincoln Expedition and Navigator.
Original equipment fitments are part of Pirelli´s strategy for success. In the last two years, the company also has opened its MIRS (Modular Integrated Robitized System) plant in Rome, Ga., introduced new tires such as the Scorpion Zero and promoted brand awareness with the help of its award-winning "Fist" advertising campaign.
