Did USW members accept Titan's offers?

Dec. 25, 2010

If its members did, indeed, vote on contract offers from Titan Tire Corp. last Thursday, the United Steelworkers union (USW) is keeping the results close to the vest.

The USW said voting on the three contracts would be held on Dec. 23. The members involved in the vote work at Titan's plants in Bryan, Ohio, Des Moines, Iowa, and Freeport, Ill. The contracts are not identical.

The members certainly had the time to vote; Titan had locked them out earlier this week (see "Titan locks out union as voting looms").

Prior to the vote, however, Titan Chairman and CEO Morry Taylor revealed what he is offering them.
