Jan. 7, 2002

Hercules Tire & Rubber Co. used its 50th Anniversary Stockholder/Sales Meeting this past weekend as a backdrop to introduce its first-ever Hercules brand ultra high performance tire lines.

The Hercules G5000Z is available in 40- and 45-series with W and Z speed ratings, according to Kevin Breen, Hercules director of marketing.

The Hercules G300V carries a V speed rating and is available in 50- and 55-series.

A March 1 delivery date is expected on both lines.

Also available on that date will be the new Hercules Ultra Touring TR line that will initially be T-speed rated. It features a 620 AB UTQG rating and one of its sizes, P225/55R17, fits current model Chrysler LHS and 300M cars.

A companion tire, the Merit Mystic Touring TR, will be made available sometime in late spring, says Steve Buck, vice president and general manager of Hercules' Tire Division.

In addition, Hercules has introduced two cosmetic performance lines, the Hercules H/P 4000 and the Merit XR 6000. Both lines come in 70- and 75-series with an S speed rating and carry a UTQG rating of 440 AB.
