ITRA, TANA and TRIB will meet with feds to discuss retread use

Nov. 28, 2001

Officials from the International Tire & Rubber Association, Tire Association of North America and Tire Retread Information Bureau (TRIB) will meet with government agencies in Washington D.C. on Dec. 10 and 11 to discuss how the federal government can boost the use of retreads in its fleets.

Representatives from various retreaders and retread suppliers also will participate in the sessions, according to TRIB.

TRIB Managing Director Harvey Brodsky called the meeting after learning that Ken Collings, a representative from the government's General Services Administration, had been asked to review federal procurement of retreads.

Collings previously quarterbacked the Federal Tire Program in the mid-1990s.
