Goodyear plans to raise truck tire prices

April 16, 2010

Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co. will raise prices on its commercial truck tires by up to 8% effective May 1, 2010. The increases will apply to all the company's truck tire brands in North America.

In addition, Goodyear will increase tread rubber prices by up to 7%.

"Escalation of raw material and transportation costs" is the reason for the increases, says a Goodyear spokesman.

Michelin North America Inc. also will raise commercial prices -- specifically on replacement truck tires and retreads sold in the U.S. -- up to 7% effective May 1.
