Ludwig: Now's a good time to rebuild inventory

“If your business hasn’t picked up smartly so far in 2010, you had better look at why not,” says Saul Ludwig in the latest installment of the "Ludwig Report" in Modern Tire Dealer magazine.

“In the Snow Belt, dealers I speak with have just about sold out of snow tires (you better get orders in soon for this year as supply could be tight).

“With gasoline prices holding below the $3 a gallon level, driving is picking up and those who deferred tire buying are now riding on bald tires and need to get new ones. That also explains why your business should be improving,” Ludwig notes.

“I expect tire prices to increase, so now is a good time to rebuild your inventories.”

Ludwig is a managing director with KeyBanc Capital Markets Inc. based in Cleveland, Ohio. Look for the full "Ludwig Report" in each issue of Modern Tire Dealer magazine.
