It was reported by David Evans on the Autosport.com Web site today that the FIA has extended its World Rally Championship sole tire supplier contract with Pirelli for one year.
Pirelli's contract was due to end at the conclusion of the 2010 season and the FIA had opened bidding for the 2011- 2013 seasons. As the only tender for this contract came from Pirelli further negotiations with the FIA resulted in the new one year contract.
The FIA will now have time to review its options regarding tire supply for the World Rally Championship in the future.
