The International Tire & Rubber Association (ITRA) will launch its Internet Marketplace on Jan. 1, 2002.

The platform will let tire industry manufacturers and distributors market their products and services to end users through the World Wide Web and will be linked to ITRA's Web site, according to association officials.

It will include a database of more than 240 categories with direct links to suppler Web sites and e-mail addresses.

The Marketplace's basic package for companies also includes an automatic listing in each applicable category.

Every company involved will have access to a managing feature it can use to update listings to reflect product/service additions and deletions.

"The Marketplace will not handle any transactions but it will include pricing information at the sole discretion of the supplier," say ITRA officials.
