Goodyear to supply U.S. Postal Service for next 10 years

July 25, 2001

Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co. will exclusively supply more than 200,000 United States Postal Service transport and delivery vehicles with tires each year for the next 10 years.

The Postal Service is expected to buy 235,000 passenger, light truck and commercial truck tires from Goodyear annually.

The agreement also includes a special program in which participating Goodyear and Gemini retail stores will provide "qualified" post office employees with discounts on tire purchases and automotive service. It will be launched in the fourth quarter.

In the past, the U.S. Postal Service had used multiple tire suppliers.
