Yokohama Tire Corp. has added two products - the Yokohama 124R and the Yokohama 505C - to its commercial truck tire lineup. Both all-position tires are now available in the United States and carry the 3-Peak Mountain Snowflake designation.

"The 124R radial tire is designed to keep regional pick-up and delivery fleets moving all year long," says Tom Clauer, Yokohama’s senior manager of commercial product planning.

The all-season tire comes in nine sizes, ranging from 17.5 to 22.5. inches.

Features include deep sipes for outstanding wet and snow braking; four wavy, circumferential grooves to promote even wear and deliver optimal traction;  an extra-wide tread for "better dispersal of contact pressure with the road to deliver longer tread life," according to Yokohama officials; rigid shoulder ribs for enhanced driving stability; and more.

“It delivers fleets a boost to their bottom line, with longer original tread life and year-round performance. Plus, the 124R carries a six-year unlimited retread casing warranty on all 17.5-inch and 19.5-inch sizes and a seven-year warranty on all 22.5-inch sizes.”

The Yokohama 505C  "is engineered to keep on/off-highway trucks working on the job and is offered in three sizes: 385/65R/22.5, 425/65R/22.5 and 445/65R/22.5," says Clauer.

The tire, which replaces the Yokohama MY507A, carries a six year, three-retread casing warranty and features a new tread pattern for enhanced traction; a special anti-chip tread compound for optimal on/off-highway durability; wide blocks and ribs that provide "outstanding traction in mud and snow," according to Yokohama officials; wide circumferential grooves for efficient water evacuation and excellent braking power; and more.

“More traction, more uptime - that’s what the 505C is all about," notes Clauer. “It provides fleets the longevity and durability needed to lift their profit margins."
