Preparing for Harvest Season

When preparing for harvest, it pays to use tires with the right technologies, according to BKT USA officials.

Key Highlights

  • CFO technology enables handling temporary overloads at lower speeds without adjusting air pressure, reducing tire stress and wear.
  • VF technology allows tires to carry 40% more load at the same pressure, minimizing soil compaction and protecting soil health.
  • Maximum speed of 40 mph enhances transit efficiency, reducing downtime and increasing overall harvesting productivity.

When preparing for harvest, it pays to use tires with the right technologies, according to BKT USA officials.

"BKT's AGRIMAX PROHARVEST is ideal for combines and harvesting machines," says Dave Paulk, manager, field technical services, BKT USA Inc. Thanks to very-high flexion (VF) technology, the tire "allows the equipment to carry more weight at the same tire pressures compared to standard tires, thus contributing to minimizing soil compaction. The tire casing, engineered to guarantee high load capacity, combined with the CFO (cyclic field operation) technology, allows AGRIMAX PROHARVEST to handle temporary overloads during operations like harvesting, reducing stress and wear on the tire. "

According to Paulk, VF technology allows tires to carry 40% more load than a standard tire at the same air pressure and CFO "allows the tire to carry temporary overloads at lower speeds without any change to the air pressure."

He adds that the  AGRIMAX PROHARVEST also features "a strong polyester carcass and a reinforced bead that improves durability and stability even in heavy-duty operations. Moreover, the three layers of steel belts combined with the cut and chip-resistant compound ensure excellent puncture resistance.

"For end-users and operators, it is strictly important to avoid soil compaction: thanks to the specific features of the AGRIMAX PROHARVEST and to the presence of VF technology, this tire ensures a wide footprint, which results in better distribution of the machinery’s weight on the soil.

Also, the open shoulder design improves traction on rough and wet terrain while facilitating the ejection of mud and debris, ensuring smooth transitions from field to road and enhancing safety.

"On the field and on the road, the AGRIMAX PROHARVEST can reach up to 40 mph, making your transit operation easier and faster, thus improving overall productivity. Last but not least, the polyester casing provides a better ride and handling in the field and on the road during transport."
