Continental Tires the Americas LLC has rolled out the ContiTread HDL 5 EP, "a next-generation long-haul drive retread."

The ContiTread HDL 5 EP has been "engineered to deliver dependable performance, improved efficiency and lower total cost-per-mile for fleet operations," according to Continental officials.

Features include an advanced, five-rib tread pattern "designed to provide consistent traction while helping reduce fuel consumption on long-haul routes" and an "optimized footprint combined with a V-shaped groove design" that promotes even wear, longer tread life and more.

"Built with a next-generation compound, the retread enhances wear resistance and minimizes heat buildup, allowing fleets to keep trucks on the road longer while reducing overall operating costs. 3D metric sipes further enhance traction and provide confident handling across a variety of road and weather conditions."

The new ContiTread HDL 5 EP is available in sizes 220, 230 and 240, with a tread depth of 21/32.
