The Open Road Café radio show for truckers, later renamed The Loading Dock, on Sirius Satellite Radio has been canceled.
The show went on the air in 2002. It turned out to be a forum for the Tire Retread and Repair Information Bureau (TRIB) to promote the advantages of using retreaded tires, and Harvey Brodsky, TRIB's managing director, and others from the retread industry participated in more than 300 shows.
The show reached thousands of truckers from all over North America. As evidence of the show's impact, TRIB sent out more then 10,000 packets of information about retreading and tire repairing to truckers who were listeners of the radio show.
“We were sorry to learn that the show had been cancelled,” says Brodsky. “By being on the show weekly, TRIB was able to contribute much to the education of truckers regarding the importance of proper tire maintenance, plus the economic and environmental benefits of retreading and proper tire repairing,” he adds.
