Back orders for commercial truck trailers have risen to their highest level in months, according to ACT Research, which tracks commercial vehicle developments and trends.
While orders during the month of April were weaker than March and February, the trailer industry "is in the early stages of a rebound from a very weak 2009," says ACT Senior Analyst Kenny Veith. "A potential indicator of continued improvement is the very low level of order cancellations over the past three months."
Despite being down on a month-to-month basis, trailer orders during the month of April were 3% above April 2009 levels.
