TRIB Promotes Retreading on 21-Day Road Trip

Oct. 20, 2015

The Tire Retread & Repair Information Bureau (TRIB) is on a 21-day retread road trip across the United States to promote the economic and environmental benefits of retreading.

Sponsored by the American Commercial Tire Network (ACTN), the road trip began in Elizabeth, N.J., on Oct. 19. It ends in Fontana, Calif., on Nov. 9.

Along the way, TRIB will stop at its members' retread plants to see the latest innovations in tire retreading, visit customers that are using retreaded tires in their operations to improve tire life and return on investment, and visit truck stops to speak directly to the users of retreaded tires to help dispel any lasting myths about retreading.

TRIB says there will be a brief break in the trip for the 2015 Global Tire Expo Nov. 3-6 in Las Vegas, Nev. TRIB will also hold its annual membership meeting in Las Vegas on Nov. 2 and co-host the Global Retread Symposium with the Tire Industry Association (TIA) on Nov. 4.

The trip’s sponsor, ACTN, is a group of independent commercial tire dealers who have created a nationwide emergency road service network that provides dependable, emergency road service at reasonable prices for commercial vehicles. Formed in 1999, the alliance has grown to include 18 member companies that operate over 2,002 service vehicles in 43 states. Their members own more than 75 retread plants and 461 service locations with over 8,000 employees nationwide.
